On 8 February, the Second School Centre hosted a diploma award ceremony for the retraining programme "Restaurant and Hospitality Manager".

The training took place in a mixed format (face-to-face and online), involving teachers from Murmansk Arctic State University (MASU) and experts from the federal project "Gastronomic Map of Russia". 📝

During the training, the trainees managed not only to acquire universal and specialized knowledge and skills in the field of restaurant and hospitality business, but also to develop their own business ideas aimed at the development of tourism sphere in Pechenga District. 

All in all 10 business ideas were worked out, some of them were highly evaluated by the examination board. If finalised, they will be eligible for state support in the tourism sector. 👨🎓 Out of 20 trainees, 17 people received retraining diplomas with honours, entitling them to a new type of professional activity.

At the graduation ceremony, the students were congratulated and wished success in their projects by the director of the Second School Centre Andrey Fomenko, project manager and assistant professor of the Department of Service and Tourism at MAGU Anna Popova, chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Murmansk region Alexander Eliseev and deputy head of the Pechenga district Marina Akhmetova.

The completed programme is the first training programme under the two-year Nickel-Tourism-2025 project of the Programme for Socio-Economic Development of the Pechenga District 2021-2025.

The Nickel-Tourism-2025 project is organised by the Second School Centre with the support of Nornickel.

The project is co-organised by Murmansk Arctic State University. 

⏰ As early as the end of February or the beginning of March 2022, the Arctic Destination Management educational programme will be launched in the Pechenga District.
